Student’s Thought From Free Range Exhibition: Artupdate Learning talks to Ryuki Yamaga
How are you finding London at the moment?
For me it is a busy place, wondering what others are seeing in the London.
Tell us about your final project at Free Range?
This is my graduation work for my BA the theme is “Health and Disease”. I got the inspirations from my experience in a hospital which I stayed for a week because of illness. The greatest inspiration I got from the hospital was the feeling and the atmosphere of the room I stayed. I usually give a characteristic for each look I make, for example the image with a hat is “doctor” and the other one is “patient”.
The doctor shows the power and cleanness, the intelligence I felt from a doctor I saw in the hospital. The Design is the mixture of the 19th century doctor and nowadays’. The patient is the feeling of myself in the hospital which is comfortlessness.
